Field note

Convert pay using your real schedule

This calculator puts hourly, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual gross pay on the same basis. For hourly pay, the annual estimate is the hourly rate multiplied by hours per week and paid weeks per year. A $25 hourly rate at 40 hours for 52 weeks is $52,000 a year before taxes and deductions.

Why 2,080 hours is only a default

A 40-hour week across 52 paid weeks equals 2,080 hours, but many schedules differ. Part-time work, unpaid leave, seasonal jobs, and a compressed schedule can all change the result. Edit both schedule fields instead of assuming every job has the same annual hours.

Gross pay is not take-home pay

The result compares gross compensation. It does not subtract federal, state, or local taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, unpaid leave, or other payroll deductions. It also leaves overtime, bonuses, tips, and commissions out unless they are already included in the amount you enter.

Use the same assumptions when comparing offers

Check whether an employer quotes paid hours, guaranteed hours, or an average. A higher hourly rate can still produce a lower annual total when the job offers fewer weeks or hours. Keep the schedule constant when comparing two rates, then change it separately to see the schedule effect.
